MSUM SPS  wishes all a ‘ good luck’ on finals!

Members talked about outreach programs.

Folks, we will meet this Thursday December 2, 2010 at 5 P in Hagen 314.

Devin Kasper will present his senior year project this Friday.

Dr. Graeme Dewar (Department chair of Physics  & Astrophysics Department, University of North Dakota) talked about metamaterial which has negative refraction index. Thus, it appears invisible to us.

Members agreed and voted to own a coffee cup machine.

National SPS outreach awards and scholarships are due on Monday, November 15.

Folks, our next SPS meeting is scheduled on November 11, 2010 at 5 P in Hagen 314.

Justin Hayes of Sanford Health talked about the major sub fields of medical physics. His talk covered recent advances and ongoing research in imaging therapy physics including 4DCT, 4DPET, MRI, Linear Accelerators and Heavy ion therapy ( protons).

We will watch ‘Dimming the Sun’ movie today at 5 P in Hagen 305.

Matthew Mumm graduated from MSUM one and half year and ago and now he is successfully working on his graduate project at NDSU on OLED and PLED applications which are basically organic LED.
