Dr. Britt Reichborn-Kjennerud from University of Columbia is visiting our campus this week (Monday-Tuesday). She will give a talk on observational cosmology for general public tomorrow (Monday, Feb 27) at 7:30 pm in SL 118.
Pablo de León from University of North Dakota, gave a talk on why the extravehicular activities are important in planetary missions. This talk was informative but entertaining. For more information on his research, please click here.
SPS was awarded the ‘Student Organization of the Month- January’ award. Victoria received Student Organization Leader of the Month Award.

Members planned to get involved in a possible outreach program at Ellen Hopkins Elementary school. Murshid, Victoria and Garrett will participate on this project.
Folks, we will meet in Hagen 314, tomorrow at 5 pm.
Dr. Woods from Washington University in St. Louis , lectured on how physics of the NMR has been applied to his research work on radiology,molecular biophysics and other branches of medical sciences. His talk particularly focused on the CODP and how the MRI techniques enlighten us about the structure of lungs, which helps surgeons and doctors to treat patients with pulmonary diseases.

This week’s seminar was about thinking beyond the box and convention that shaped our scientific reasoning over the course of history. Dr. L also spent some time on perceiving an idea of image and explained why it is hard to be a neutral observer.
Members agreed and voted to buy pizzas for Physics Seminar course (Physics 315).
There is an outreach opportunity open to the SPS members at Ellen Hopkins Elementary school on March 30th at 5:30 pm. We will talk about it more in the next SPS meeting.
CSNS lecture night: Dr. Jason C Woods from University of Washington St. Louis is visiting our campus next week. Students might like to attend his lecture on February 16 at 7:30 pm in SL 118. He will also come to Physics Seminar (Phys 315).
Dr. Kirk Stueve from NDSU is coming to our campus on February 16, and he will give a talk on the GIS.
